AUSTIN HEALEY 3000 Mk 11:

Rather shocked at what we found!

Work that had been done before (not by us I hasten to add) had been rather shabby. It just goes to prove you never know what you are going to find until you start.

VW Golf now completely finished outside the workshop

VW completed and now returned to owner.

Photos of the Golf are now on the Gallery Page

North Norfolk Restoration - MG MidgetMG MIDGET

Thanks once again to Bragg of Briston for picking this car up for us. These are the first pictures of the MG Midget as she arrived here.

As with all the other projects we have here I will put photos on of all the stages throughout the restoration.

Looking sad!

North Norfolk Restoration - MG MidgetNot bad!

North Norfolk Restoration - MG MidgetJust a little bit of work .......

North Norfolk Restoration - MG MidgetWhere to start!!!!

MG is now running so at least we can move her when we need to. I have given Steve, the owner, the first list of parts that he needs - I think he's like a kid with a new toy - no stopping him now.

Now we are really getting down to business - sadly this car has had work done before and not by a reputable company - cowboy traders come to mind!!

You never know what you will find hidden up!

Lots to do here

Its great being able to put the photos on here for everyone to see as the work on each car progresses. Steve who owns the MG is still in his element ordering parts - we have a 'hotline' to his house and he often pops over just to check how things are going, which is great. Until you actually start on each bit you never know what you will uncover and we have certainly uncovered previous shoddy work.

As you can see from the last three photos, alot of work has been involved in getting the headlights fitted into the bonnet.

The next three photos show the grill being fitted to increase airflow. This involved major surgery and is not for the faint hearted!!

Sorry its been so long putting new photos on website but hope you can see the Midget taking shape and looking better!

Getting to look a bit like a car now

At long last - this will be the final colour of this MG Midget
Still a long way to go

Another in storage for now!

This Citroen Avant is due to arrive in the workshop shortly. It has been standing in the owners garage for at least fifteen years. As soon as we have photos for you these will be added. We have now collected this car from Greenwich and brought it to Norfolk. Below are the photos of her being loaded onto the trailer for the journey home.

Lock-up where the car has been stored for several years.

This part took three of us. We had to push and steer her up the trailer. Good job I had two other men with muscles to help!

I will try to take several photos now which show the transformation of this wonderful old car. We now have the space so this car is in the workshop and work on the engine has begun.

Wow, what a job it was to get the brakes in good working order. Having stood around for several years you can imagine the state the brakes were in, but after several hours work these are now great and means we can at least move her when necessary.

We thought all the mechanical work on the Citroen had been completed until we had to move her!! Finally, after years of standing around the clutch needs working on - now I remember why we have to have all cars mobile - trying to work with her in the wrong place has been a problem to say the least. Never mind, hopefully we will start on the bodywork.

Specialist tools are needed to do the clutch which we have not got so she is going to a Citroen Garage near to us. Clutch has now been done and the Citroen is back with us. After having her in storage for awhile she is now back in the workshop. Doors and wings have been removed ready for restoration and the doors have been stripped of handles, trims and mouldings. The doors are now being restored.

Below are a couple of photos of her stripped out and taken in the recent snowy weather.

Weather is good to look at only!

As our workshop is fairly full with cars, we have put the Citroen body back into storage while we work on the wings and doors - this gives me more space to work in.

Sadly, due to the awful weather we are having we have had to delay our next customer for a week or so.
